Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia

SWORO Foundation

Stichting (foundation) Wetenschappelijk (scientific) Onderzoek (research) Rendu Osler. The SWORO is a so-called ANBI foundation: no taxes are to be paid on gifts or legacies.

SWORO's objective

The SWORO promotes scientific research and provides financial support for this research. Gifts are greatly appreciated. Scientific research is necessary to further improve treatment modalities for nosebleeds and bleeding of the intestines, but also to further elucidate the underlying mechanism of the DNA mutations and its effects on vasculature.

St. Antonius Hospital and research

The St. Antonius hospital is well positioned for such research, at the one hand by the large number of patients and at the other hand by the collaboration with well-known laboratories. The SWORO was founded in September 2005 for these reasons. Research requires money, for instance for the salary of young researchers and laboratory facilities. The home base of the SWORO is the St. Antonius Hospital.
